Frequently Asked Questions about ICMG and the Conference

Who attends?
Senior level executives and decision-makers from insurance carriers, fraternal and financial organizations, marketing organizations and distributors (IMOs, BGAs), operational and sales support providers, and others involved in creating business relationships and strategic alliances.

Why do they attend?
ICMG's Annual Conference has a history of offering networking events where people meet and successfully develop business partnerships. If you're looking for a new product, someone to design a new product for you, or you're looking for distribution for new or existing products, chances are you can find what you're looking for at the ICMG Conference. It's also a great place to reinforce relationships with existing business partners, and learn about the latest innovations from our vendors that can benefit your business. Add in our keynote and educational sessions, and you'll understand why the ICMG Conference is known as the best conference in the industry!

ICMG is about networking. How do I meet others?
We have several ways to help you meet other attendees:

  • The 30-Second Member Introductions
  • Speed Networking
  • The Networking Hall
  • Evening Receptions
  • Networking into the Night
  • The ICMG mobile app - it will have the most current information for all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors

But mostly, you’ll find that everyone is willing to talk to you. And if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they may be able to introduce you to someone who does!

Tell me about the 30-second member introduction.
This is one of our best-known events. Every attendee gets 30 seconds to tell who they are and who/what they’re looking for at the conference. So, polish up your 30-second elevator pitch! As you listen to others, you'll find people you'll want to connect with during the conference.

And Speed Networking?
Join the Speed Networking session and meet 30 or so people in 90 minutes. You will have about 2 minutes to tell someone about you and find out about them. Then you move on to the next person. Next to the 30-second member introduction, this is one of everyone's favorites. Bring your business cards!

Will I make a "deal" while I'm at the conference?
It's possible, but don't be surprised if you don't. Most successful deals take time. More likely, you’ll meet people at this conference that you end up doing business with on a long-term basis. And by coming back several years in a row, you’ll continue to foster existing business relationships while starting new ones.

With excellent sessions and speakers, this year’s conference will be packed with great information. But the networking is why so many people come back year after year.

Many attendees tell us it’s like a dozen business trips all rolled into one.
